This loose fitting vest hangs longer at the sides. It is easy to knit in an open stitch pattern. Knit in one piece with minimal finishing. One button closes the front.

Length from shoulder: 20 inches
Width across back:       14 inches
Width of each front:     16 inches



YARN USED FOR SAMPLE:

Elesbeth Lavold - Silky Tweed
40% silk, 30% cotton, 20% merino extra fine, 10% viscose
50 grams - 131 yards each skein

For your vest to be the correct size, it is not the brand of yarn that matters, but the GAUGE that is important.

It is best to refer to the yardage to determine how many skeins or balls to purchase.



NEEDLES:
size 6 straight needles; or size to obtain the correct gauge
size E crochet hook

GAUGE:
21 stitches and 30 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch
22 stitches and 25 rows = 4 inches in pattern stitch and pressed
