From the front this is a classic raglan sleeve cardigan. From the back this cardigan is something special. Knitting the flaps and adding them to the back of the cardigan is very simple following the very clear instructions.

100% baby merino
50 grams - 470 yards each skein

4(4, 5, 5,5) skeins

For your cardigan to be the correct size, it is not the brand of yarn that matters, but the GAUGE that is important.

It is best to refer to the yardage to determine how many skeins or balls to purchase.



NEEDLES:
Size 3 and size 5 straight needles; or size needles to obtain the correct gauge
12 double pointed needles size 5 or smaller to hold the flaps until needed - they all do not have to be the same size



OTHER NOTIONS:
24 point protectors or rubber bands for the ends of double-pointed needles
ring markers
tapestry needle
6 buttons size 16mm (5/8 inch)



GAUGE:
27 stitches and 40 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch on size 5 needles



SKILL LEVEL:
skill_level_3
  Projects with a variety of stitches, such as basic cables    and lace, simple intarsia, double-pointed needles and   knitting in the round needle techniques, mid-level   shaping and finishing.
