For your cardigan to be the correct size, it is not the brand of yarn that matters, but the GAUGE that is important.

It is best to refer to the yardage to determine how many skeins or balls to purchase.



NEEDLES:
size 4 and size 6 straight needles; or size needles to obtain the correct gauge
size 6 or smaller double pointed needles to use to hold stitches



OTHER NOTIONS:
gauge ruler
tapestry needle
9 buttons - 3/8 inch size



GAUGE:
23 stitches and 30 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch on size 6 needles
