Add shiny ribbon fringes to this good-looking scarf and you have a winner.
The mock eyelet cable pattern does not require a cable needle, a simple 4 row repeat.

SIZE:

approximate size: 5" wide x 68" long

YARN USED FOR SAMPLE:

Plymouth Yarns - Baby Alpaca Brush
80%baby alpaca - 20% acrylic
50 grams - 110 yards each ball
3 balls

approximately 160 yards ribbon for optional fringe

For your scarf to be the correct size, it is not the brand of yarn that matters, but the GAUGE that is important.

It is best to refer to the yardage to determine how many skeins or balls to purchase.

NEEDLES:

size 9 straight needles; or size needles to obtain the correct gauge
large crochet hook to pull fringes through

OTHER NOTIONS:

gauge ruler
tapestry needle

GAUGE:

32 stitches in eyelet mock cable measures 5 inches on size 9 needles
(row gauge is unimportant)
