Instead of the traditional school striped scarf in two solid colors add a hint of gingham for a different look. Knit in Lace Weight yarn with two strands held together in seed stitch to create the gingham look. This is a fast and easy project.

SIZE:
approximate size: 7 inches wide x 66 inches long



YARN USED FOR SAMPLE:
Malabrigo Lace Merino
100% baby merino wool
50 grams - approximately 470 yards each skein
1 skein Color A
1 skein Color B
 
For your scarf to be the correct size, it is not the brand of yarn that matters, but the GAUGE that is important.

It is best to refer to the yardage to determine how many skeins or balls to purchase.



NEEDLES:
size 10 needles or size needles to obtain the correct gauge
size J crochet hook to pull fringe through



OTHER NOTIONS:
gauge ruler
tapestry needle



GAUGE:
18 stitches and 26 rows = 4 inches blocked (gauge is not that important for this scarf)
