If you love to felt, or never felted before, you will love making this easy to knit stylish clutch purse. Knit in the round on circular needles.

It is so much fun to embellish. I sewed on assorted charms and covered one side gusset with seed beads.

SIZE:

Before Felting: approximately 15" wide x 11" high x 5" deep
After Felting: approximately 11" wide x 6" high x 3" deep

YARN USED FOR SAMPLE:

Cascade 220 wool @ 220 yards each skein
100% wool
100 grams - 220 yards each skein
3 Skeins

NOTE: PURSE IS WORKED WITH 2 STRANDS OF YARN THROUGHOUT

This clutch purse can be made with any 100% wool that felts in the weight specified as long as the correct gauge can be obtained.

It is best to refer to the yardage to determine how many skeins or balls to purchase.

NEEDLES:

size 15 circular needle—24 inches long; or size needles to obtain the correct gauge
size J crochet hook

OTHER NOTIONS:

gauge ruler
ring markers
tapestry needle
embellishments
large snap closure
1/2 yard of fabric for lining—optional

GAUGE:

Before Felting: Approximately 10 stitches and 14 rows = 4 inches

After Felting: Approximately 14.5 stitches and 26 rows = 4 inches

When felting you should use the recommended gauge; but it does not have to be as precise as for a sweater.
If your gauge is too tight the purse will not felt well.
If your gauge is too loose you may run out of yarn.

	Projects using basic stitches, repetitive stitch patterns, simple color changes, and simple shaping and finishing.
