This is new spin on an old fashion purse. What can be more appropriate than a knit knitting bag? We pinned a pretty silk flower on the front to use as a purse.

This bag is easy but it is rated skill level 4 - experienced, because of a few short rows. The short rows give the rounded look on the lower edge. Three strands of yarn are held together to knit the purse, giving it lots of body. We used 2 solid strands and 1 variegated strand.

100% cotton

2 each of two different solid shades to coordinate with your variegated Waikiki choice

Crystal Palace - Waikiki - variegated colors
68% rayon - 32% cotton
50 grams - 105 yards

For your purse to be the correct size, it is not the brand of yarn that matters, but the GAUGE that is important.

It is best to refer to the yardage to determine how many skeins or balls to purchase.

NEEDLES:

size 8 straight needles; or size needles to obtain the correct gauge

1 magnetic snap 18mm (for lined purse only)

15 stitches and 22 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch on size 8 needles
