We really love ruffled purses. Here are two versions of the same purse.
Each purse has three ruffles.
The upper edge of A (shown above) is gathered on a small wood purse handle and a silk flower is pinned to the front.
The upper edge of B (not shown) is spread over a metal purse fame and sequins are randomly sewn on ruffles.
Both versions are included in the pattern.

For your purse to be the correct size, it is not the brand of yarn that matters, but the GAUGE that is important.
It is best to refer to the yardage to determine how many skeins or balls to purchase.
NEEDLES:
size 4 straight needle; or size needles to obtain the correct gauge
size 4 or smaller double pointed needle, at least 7" long - only 1 needle is needed
OTHER NOTIONS:
1 pair of wooden purse handles - dark brown or natural only
or
10" purse frame - antique gold or silver
20" purse chain - antique gold or silver
Optional:
1/2 yard fabric to line purse

GAUGE:
25 stitches and 32 rows = 4 inches on size 4 needles
SKILL LEVEL:
Projects with a variety of stitches, such as basic cables and lace, simple intarsia, double-pointed needles and knitting in the round needle techniques, mid-level shaping and finishing.
