Working different patterns on each sleeve corresponding to patterns on the body make this dropped shoulder pullover a knockout. Wide ribs and checkerboard worked in only knits and purls make this sweater easy to knit.

NOTE: the reason the sleeve length is shorter in larger sizes is: • the shoulder measurement is not that much larger between sizes • the sweater is wider proportionately than the shoulder measurement • the sweater drops down over the shoulder and further onto the arm • less sleeve length is needed to cover the arm which also is not that much longer between sizes

YARN USED FOR SAMPLE:

Berroco Yarns - Extra Fine Merino
100% extra fine merino wool
50 grams - 92 yards each ball

17(19, 21, 25) balls

For your pullover to be the correct size, it is not the brand of yarn that matters, but the GAUGE that is important.

It is best to refer to the yardage to determine how many skeins or balls to purchase.

NEEDLES:

size 7 and 9 straight needles - size 6 circular needle 16 inches long
size 9 or smaller double pointed needles or 5 stitch holders
or size needles to obtain the correct gauge

OTHER NOTIONS:

gauge ruler
tapestry needle

GAUGE:

18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch on size 9 needles

SKILL LEVEL:

	Projects using basic stitches, repetitive stitch patterns, simple color changes, and simple shaping and finishing.
