For your cardigan to be the correct size, it is not the brand of yarn that matters, but the GAUGE that is important. It is best to refer to the yardage to determine how many skeins or balls to purchase.

FOR A SUBSTITUTE YARN

SUGGESTED NEEDLE SIZE
- Size 2-(2.75 mm) and size 3-(3.25 cm) straight needles; or size needles to obtain the correct gauge
- Size 3 (3.25 cm) or smaller double pointed needles or 4 stitch holders

NOTIONS
- Gauge ruler
- Yarn markers - number 10 crochet thread in a contrasting color is great for yarn markers
- Tracking sheet included in pattern
- Tapestry needle
- Two small buttons

GAUGE
- 28 stitches x 40 rows = 4 inches-(10 cm) in stockinette stitch on 3-(3.25 mm) needles in stockinette stitch. Or size needle to obtain the correct gauge.
