Christmas Stocking 5 - dancer

A stunning and feminine Christmas stocking any women would love. Knit on straight needles. The eyelets are worked close to the top. After the seam is sewn a ribbon is woven through and tied in a bow. Included in the pattern are very clear instructions for the appliquéing the fabric flowers using steam a seam. You will want to appliqué everything you own.

85% wool - 15% mohair
100 grams - 190 yards each

2 pull skeins

For your stocking to be the correct size, it is not the brand of yarn that matters, but the GAUGE that is important.

It is best to refer to the yardage to determine how many skeins or balls to purchase

NEEDLES:

size 9 straight needles; or size needles to obtain the correct gauge
size 9 double pointed needles

OTHER NOTIONS:

gauge ruler
tapestry needle
approximately 50 inches of ribbon, 1.5 inches wide
¼ yard floral fabric
sheet of steam a seam 2 or Heat-n-Bond Lite (follow directions on package)

GAUGE:

20 stitches and 26 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch on size 9 needles

You should use the recommended gauge, but it does not have to be as precise as for a sweater. If you are knitting tighter than the recommended gauge, the stocking will be smaller and use less yarn. If you are knitting looser than the recommended gauge, the stocking will be larger, use more yarn and need more stocking stuffer presents. Try different size needles if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

SKILL LEVEL:

	Projects with a variety of stitches, such as basic cables and lace, simple intarsia, double-pointed needles and knitting in the round needle techniques, mid-level shaping and finishing.
