An attractive Christmas stocking with sewn on ribbon flowers, that is both bold and feminine at the same time. Knit on straight needles, the striped cuff adds interest. It will look attractive in different color combinations.

Brown Sheep's Lambs Pride Worsted
85% wool - 15% mohair
100 grams - 190 yards each pull skein

2 pull skeins Main Color or approximately 250 yards worsted weight yarn

1 pull skein Contrasting Color or approximately 100 yards worsted weight yarn

Approximately 1.5 yards gingham ribbon flowers or desired embellishments

For your stocking to be the correct size, it is not the brand of yarn that matters, but the GAUGE that is important.

It is best to refer to the yardage to determine how many skeins or balls to purchase

NEEDLES:

size 9 straight needles; or size needles to obtain the correct gauge
size 9 double pointed needles

OTHER NOTIONS:

gauge ruler
tapestry needle

GAUGE:

20 stitches and 26 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch on size 9 needles

You should use the recommended gauge, but it does not have to be as precise as for a sweater. If you are knitting tighter than the recommended gauge, the stocking will be smaller and use less yarn. If you are knitting looser than the recommended gauge, the stocking will be larger, use more yarn and need more stocking stuffer presents. Try different size needles if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

SKILL LEVEL:

	Projects with a variety of stitches, such as basic cables and lace, simple intarsia, double-pointed needles and knitting in the round needle techniques, mid-level shaping and finishing.
