children's Chanel style suit 42 - peeps

A “Chanel” style suit looks sophisticated on a grown-up but adorable on a little girl. This is a mini version of a “Chanel” style suit for a little girl. Instead of a skirt that can be uncomfortable and shift around; there is a sleeveless dress to be worn underneath. The set-in sleeve jacket is worked in an easy to knit Tattersall Plaid and the dress is knit in stockinette stitch.

2(2, 3) pull skeins Color A for dress
2(3, 3) pull skeins Color A for jacket
1 pull skein Color B for Contrasting Color for Jacket

For your cardigan to be the correct size, it is not the brand of yarn that matters, but the GAUGE that is important.

It is best to refer to the yardage to determine how many skeins or balls to purchase.

NEEDLES:

Size 4 double pointed needles, 8 to 10 inches long
Size 6 straight needles
Size 4 straight needles (optional)
Size F crochet hook

OTHER NOTIONS:

gauge ruler
tapestry needle
7 double-pointed needles, size 6 or smaller or 7 stitch holders
1 button (for back of dress placket) 3/8 inch (11.5mm)
6 buttons ½ inch (12.5mm) with shanks (not sew through)
Approximately 10 inches of chain to match buttons

GAUGE:

23 stitches x 34 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch on size 6 needles

SKILL LEVEL:

	Projects with a variety of stitches, such as basic cables and lace, simple intarsia, double-pointed needles and knitting in the round needle techniques, mid-level shaping and finishing.
