This raglan cardigan has attention-grabbing epaulets at the shoulders. The sweater is outlined in a simple single crochet in the same contrasting color as the dots. There are so many interesting color combinations to knit.
The two sleeves, back and front are knit to the armholes, and then all pieces are attached for the yoke, which is knit in one piece. Two hat patterns are included, one knit on straight needles and another on a circular needle.

For your cardigan to be the correct size, it is not the brand of yarn that matters, but the GAUGE that is important.

It is best to refer to the yardage to determine how many skeins or balls to purchase.

NEEDLES:

size 6 straight needles
size 6 circular needle; 24 inches long
size E crochet hook
4 long stitch holders or 4 double pointed needles eight to 10 inches long

OTHER NOTIONS:

gauge ruler
5 small safety pins for hat on circular needles only
tapestry needle
4 buttons size ½ inch (12.5mm)

GAUGE:

23 stitches x 32 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch on size 6 needles

SKILL LEVEL:

	Projects with a variety of stitches, such as basic cables and lace, simple intarsia, double-pointed needles and knitting in the round needle techniques, mid-level shaping and finishing.
