The sew-on soft chiffon flowers make this classic cardigan feminine and delicate.
The lower edge of cardigan and sleeves and the bands are knit in 2 x 2 ribbing. The lower edge of the hat has a rolled edge. The pattern includes instructions for the hat knit on circular needles in the round or knit on straight needles and seamed.

For your cardigan to be the correct size, it is not the brand of yarn that matters, but the GAUGE that is important.

It is best to refer to the yardage to determine how many skeins or balls to purchase.

NEEDLES:

size 3 and size 5 straight needles; or size needles to obtain the correct gauge
size 3 and size 5 circular needles, 16 inches long if knitting the hat in the round
5 double pointed needles size 5 to use to hold shoulders, back neck edge and for shaping the crown on hat knit on circular needles

OTHER NOTIONS:

tapestry needle
6(7, 8) buttons 5/8 inch (15mm) size

GAUGE:

24 stitches x 34 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch on size 5 needles
