children's cardigan 27 - laffy taffy

This is one of my favorite cardigans. The back and fronts are knit from side to side in reverse stockinette stitch one row stripe pattern. The sleeves are knit the usual way, either separate sleeves, starting at the cuff, or picked up sleeves and worked down toward the cuff. After completing the cardigan, the flowers are worked in cross stitch on waste canvas. Our flowers are worked in pink and a pretty chartreuse green for the leaves. We used the same shade of chartreuse for the garter stitch borders. Another option is to sew purchased appliqué flowers, or masculine themed appliqués randomly over cardigan.
