For your cardigan to be the correct size, it is not the brand of yarn that matters, but the GAUGE that is important.

It is best to refer to the yardage to determine how many skeins or balls to purchase.

NEEDLES:

size 7 straight needle; or size needles to obtain the correct gauge

OTHER NOTIONS:

4(4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6) buttons 3/4 inch size

GAUGE:

18 stitches and 28 rows = 4 inches in checkboard stitch on size 7 needles
