children's blanket 10 - hopscotch

child_afghan_hopscotch

Hopscotch is an interesting afghan knit in strips using a bind off and pick up to separate the squares resembling a single crochet. It matches the single crochet used to join the strips and the outside crochet border. The sample afghan was knit in five colors plus a border color. Any combination or number of colors can be used. Each square has contrasting bobbles of one of the five colors. There is a chart I used for the sample and a blank chart to help you arrange your color combinations. In the sample each of the five colors is used six times for the background color and six times for bobbles.

The easy to follow pattern includes:

    •    Schematic for each piece
    •    A helpful tracking sheet
    •    Diagrams and full explanations for techniques
    •    A link for substitute yarn
    •    A pattern helpline
