YARN USED FOR SAMPLE
Rowan Yarns—Cashsoft dk
57% extra fine merino—33% acrylic microfibre—10% cashmere
1.75 ounces-(50 grams)—142 yards-(130 m) each

9 balls—1290 yards-(1179 m) of Main Color (MC)

5 balls—645 yards-(590) of Contrasting Color (CC)

For your afghan to be the correct size, it is not the brand of yarn that matters, but the GAUGE that is important. It is best to refer to the yardage to determine how many skeins or balls to purchase.

FOR A SUBSTITUTE YARN

SUGGESTED NEEDLE SIZES
- Size 6 (4mm)—14 inch-(35 cm) straight or 29 inch-(73 cm) circular needles
- Size 5-(3.75mm) 29 inch-(73 cm) circular needle or size needles to obtain the correct gauge

NOTIONS
- Gauge ruler
- Bobbins—I prefer not to use bobbins. Using cut long pieces of yarn controls tangling.
- Tapestry needle
- Tracking sheet-included with pattern

GAUGE
- 27 stitches x 28 rows = 4.5 inches-(11.4 cm) in the stockinette stitch on size 6-(4mm) needles
