FINISHED SIZE:
46 inches wide x 55 inches long before fringes

YARN USED FOR SAMPLE:
Mountain Colors-moguls
96% wool - 4% nylon
100 grams - 65 yards each skein

12 skeins

Note: No matter how much alike hand dyed yarn may appear, there are usually some differences between them. It is suggested, therefore, using two skeins of yarn at once throughout, alternating every two rows, or at random. These differences add to the beauty of your garment.

For your afghan to be the correct size, it is not the brand of yarn that matters, but the GAUGE that is important.

It is best to refer to the yardage to determine how many skeins or balls to purchase.

NEEDLES:
size 17 circular needle 29 to 40 inches long or size needles to obtain the correct gauge
very large (size K or larger) crochet hook to pull fringes through

OTHER NOTIONS:
gauge ruler
tapestry needle
GAUGE:
7 stitches = 4 inches in stockinette stitch on size 17 needles

SKILL LEVEL:
skill_level_1
Projects for first-time knitters using basic knit and purl   stitches. Minimal shaping.
